Halloween is a holiday celebrated on October 31. History of Halloween, like any other festivals is inspired through traditions that have transpired through ages from one generation to another. We follow them mostly as did our dads and grandpas. And as this tradition goes on, much of their originality created traditions get distorted with newer additions and alterations as well. It happens so gradually, spanning over so many ages, that we hardly come to know about these distortions. At one point of time it leaves us puzzled, with its multicolored faces. For instance, take as the trick or treat part of the Halloween gifts. There used to be a time where grandmas and moms used to bake freshly homemade cookies and biscuits for trick and treat, now due to the changes in our environment and the loss of appetite on tradition it has been changed to distributing candies and sweets.

Tariq Farid Entrepreneur of the award winner 2008

Edible Arrangements President and CEO Tariq Farid will be honored by the International Franchise Association as its Entrepreneur of the Year during its 49th annual convention being held in San Diego at Feb. 16.
Emigrating from Pakistan to the United States in 1969, Tariq Farid’s entrepreneurial spirit bloomed in the late 1980s at the age of 17 when he used a $5,000 cash advance from his parents to purchase a local flower shop in East Haven, Conn. Within two years he was operating four successful stores, building on his experience from working in a McDonald’s restaurant where he learned the power of business systemization. After realizing the need for quality software systems for ease of management in the retail floral industry, Farid founded computer-software distributor Netsolace in 1993 and honed his skills with computer systems.
In 1999, Farid opened the first Edible Arrangements franchise, which specializes in fresh fruit arrangements. After designing the computer systems, training manuals, production and profitability tracking and supply chain management process, he began franchising the concept in 2001. As president and CEO, Farid has grown the company to more than 800 stores serving locations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
In 2006, Tariq Farid also launched the franchise concept Frutation by Edible Arrangements out of his desire to provide consumers an “on-the-go” option. In addition to operating three companies, Farid founded the Salma K. Farid Academy, Foundation and Welfare Center in his efforts to contribute to the community. The academy is a not-for-profit school for the Muslim community and the other entities provide support for those in need. Farid is also a member of Deen Inc. New Haven, which aims to revitalize the inner-city neighborhood.
The Entrepreneur of the Year Award is presented to an individual who is currently building a successful business venture, demonstrates innovative management skills in a franchise that has been in operation at least three years and is active in the community.

Dipped Fruit

1: Dipped fruit

A dipping fruit is a common condiment for putting something briefly in flavored or some soft liquids mixture and take it out again. Dipping can be used for adding taste to a food like fresh fruit dipped in chocolate etc. Using chocolate as a dipping sauce has always been popular among chocoholics and dessert-lovers alike because it offers an easy, yet decedent sugar-fix.

Fruits are one of the oldest forms of food known to man. Fresh and dipped fruits are the

Natural staple food of man. They contain substantial quantities of essential nutrients in a rational proportion. They are excellent sources of minerals, vitamins and enzymes. They are easily digested and exercise a cleaning effect on the blood and the digestive tract. Fresh and dipped fruits are thus not only a good food, but also a good medicine.

2: dipped fruit development

Dipped Fruits have been recognized as a good source of vitamins and minerals now days. They have been especially valuable for their ability to prevent vitamin C and vitamin A deficiencies. The making of dipping fruit is very process if you want to make a dipped fruit you need some fresh fruit and some flavored sauce like chocolates. But some instructions are used for this work.

Step: 1

Wash and slice fruit into bite-sized pieces. Refrigerate fruit long enough so that it is firm to the touch. (Do not use warm-fruit, as this will cause your toothpick to incessantly fall out of the fruit.)

Step: 2

Near to serving time, arrange fruit on serving platter. Insert toothpicks into fruit.

Step: 3

Put chocolate and shortening in top half of a double-broiler, which sits above a pot of boiling water. Ensure that the boiling water is not hitting the top of the top half's bottom (this will ensure that your chocolate is more properly tempered).

Step: 4

As you see the chocolate and shortening slowly melt together, stir the mixture on occasion. If mixture begins melting too quickly, lower heat and/or temporarily remove pot from heat.

Step: 5

If using as a fondue, pour mixture into a fondue pot, and immediately serve with fruit platter.

Step: 6

If creating chocolate-dipped fruit, dip a portion of each fruit piece into chocolate mixture. After dipping fruit piece, set onto wax paper, where it will cool and the chocolate will have time to set. Allow chocolate-dipped fruit to cool for at least an hour prior to serving, or offering as romantic present!

3: uses

With a wide variety of fruits every can be dipped in chocolate at every occasion like apple, peach, pear, kiwifruit, watermelon and mango are commercially available as human food, eaten both fresh and dipped and other preserves. Dipped Fruits are also in man-made foods like chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered pineapples, and many more. Dipped Fruits are also used for gifting at different occasion like birthday gifts, thank you gifts, business gifts, Valentine's Day gifts or wedding favors. Fruit Basket and Fruit Bouquet are some common forms of fruit gifts. Every man can make these fruit according to every criterion so just used three rules

1: Pick it    2: Dip it     3: Personalize it

4: Nutritious value

Fruits not only prevent malnutrition but also help in maintaining optimum health through a host of chemical components that are still being identified, tested, and measured. Dipped Fruits are generally high in taste, minerals, fiber and nutrients.

Fruits are clearly an important part of a good diet. Almost everyone can benefit from eating more of them, but variety is as important as quantity. No single fruit or vegetable provides all of the nutrients you need to be healthy. The key lies in the variety of different vegetables and fruits that you eat.
